Core Race.
I actually was thinking about this awhile back as a test of sorts. Put four members in a gate and have them each solo that gate. Who ever reaches depth 29 from depth 1 wins a massive prize.
Interesting...
Sounds fun yet daunting... I rather like the idea but lack anything in the way of a "Massive" prize. Also I wonder what would happen should all participants fail to reach the core.
Re: Core Race.
How does 1600 Ce and a few accessories sound? Any Officers or Guildmasters could pop in for revs if needed, Just an idea more or less.
Great
That sounds like a rather nice prize to have. And I suppose I wouldn't mind hoping in for a quick revival every now and then.

However I figure the best gate would be the ones with the Jigsaw valley's, Those tend to have the best crowns and the fewest candlestick keeps.
Re: Core Race.
one question, though- what about the person facing the FSC- I mean, to me that seems like a harder gate then any of the other three...

FSC
Well the gate will be voted upon by all people who participate. I find the easiest way to the core is through the JK gate and through the Jigsaw valley. Its one of the few that has minimal Candlestick keeps and few Arenas. On top of that I believe it is the only one without one of those mini boss levels at the end.
Lovely
Well if you could find a date to do this and if we could find enough people I'd be all for it. It think I's a rather nice idea.
Great
I'll see if I can get the members to know about it so they can be ready to partake in the event.
Re: Core Race.
Wait officers and GMs can't take part!?
Also, any time before the 13th would be preferable. After, and I can't take part until the 17th.
Also, I think you should have to rev yourself... I mean, there is a 1600ce prize.
Furthermore, we'd have to have somebody keeping eye on the social tab to make sure nobody's skipping a tier.
... and 29 floors takes a looong time. Like 2 hrs-ish... less due to race, but still long.
Maybe do it in legs? Like 1 tier at a time? Give points for placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc per leg, and whoever has the most points at the end wins? Though, that does complicate things...
Also, is this supposed to be Crono?

Indeed... I don't want to keep an eye on the social tab for multiple hours at a time to keep people honest... Maybe time each leg and whoever has the smallest combined time wins? Even if it complicates things a bit we could have it be a multi-day event.
and what of cheap shots?
i'm skeptical of how long any one can reasonably last solo- i've solo'ed tier2 runs a few times, but nearly every time i ended up dying because of lag or a freak glitch- it just seems like it would end up being a competition between the better internet connections.i'm more in favor of teams of 2, so at least if one lags out for a moment it doesn't start costing the team energy for unavoidable misfortune.

Even still
Good idea nonetheless. It's challenging and rewarding. I'd like to see this idea grow and maybe develop into a sport for the Cradle Olympics! That will be the day...
about rewards...
i also think that the reward for this, or any other competion really... should be based on a pot- entry fee is xxx, and the winner(s) take all. or most. point is, the more members involved, the bigger the pot; if all members gave 1000 crowns, the pot would be 45,000.

Hmm...
I like the idea in general and having an entry fee means a single person doesn't have to bear the burden of the reward alone. Seems wrong to impose such a cost on a single person for a single event anyway.
Re: Core Race.
Well, when I did the cradle achievement, I did from emberlight to the core solo... Emkiz and I were gonna do the full thing together but didn't descend at the same time
(unfortunately we got ganked in an early fiend danger room...)
Anyway, freak glitches and lag are part of the game. For instance, my computer tends to load the levels more slowly, so somebody with a faster computer would start every level 10 seconds before me.
But, having teams sounds like a good idea. One person getting an entire 1600ce pot seems a bit much.
On the other hand, pretty well everybody will be lining up to have me on their team, and that'd just be such a harsh decision to make.
Then there's also gear restrictions/advantages... For instance guys like Gimmedatcookie wouldn't be much use despite being active members, and I'd love to see that guy win 1600ce - after myself of course.
Go Team POTATO!
