Re: Random Board
LOL Actually, while I have played Chrono Trigger, it didn't interest me enoguh to actually buy it and finish it at the time. Which is odd, because I pretty much sold my soul- I mean, 90% of my game library to purchase Skyrim, and that... actually kinda let me down despite the "OMFG SKYRIM IS GREAT JIZZ JIZZ JIZZZZZZZ" bullcrap. |D

Re: Random Board
First, Skyrim was never about Vanilla. The true game hasn't even come out yet.
(nsfw-language)
Second, play Chrono Trigger - Get an emulator like Snes9x or Znes, and download a rom.
And, by that I specifically mean, go out and buy a cartridge from a used games shop, or ebay, and run it on your fully legit SNES.

If one man's trash is another man's treasure...
The perhaps one man's treasure must be another man's trash? Can't say for sure but it's possible. With that note, back to the nonsense!

The game is also available on DS and possibly via virtual console on Wii (I can't remember if it is) if you want an easier way to get it than through finding obsolete hardware and you don't want to pirate.
Re: Random Board
honestly, I would rather pirate lol cuz it didn't seem worth the money for my level of interest.
Also, Silloe, my main complaints with Skyrim are actually sorta valid considering I'm limited to the 360 version (my PC is too shitty to run games like Skyrim or even Oblivion) and about 50% of them are abut how the game operates, two such examples being the: over simpliciation of hotkeys, replacing them instead with a "favorites list" yeah so I can favorite more than 8 items. But now I have so much fucking stuff I use that my favorites "list" has become a whole new "menu" in and of itself. if it was IN ADDITION to hotkeys, then woot, neat feature. But no hotkeys? Now I might as well just use the items menu to switch weapons and spells anyway and there's the oh so glitchy "Radiant Story" mechanic. I know it's new and bound to have some kinks but this was almost bad enough to say it could give Fable III a run for its money. Which is NOT cool.

Chrono Trigger
How much you enjoy the game will depend on how much you like RPGs in general. The game was fantastic and had an original battle system and the story was wonderfully enjoyable to me. I'll admit when you have only a few skills and you're playing with only Crono at your disposal it's a bit slow and less enjoyable BUT the game picks up momentum and becomes easily one of the best games I've ever played. Granted I played the enhanced DS remake but that had little in the way of improvements besides adding the Dream Eater ending, featuring some pretty cool anime clips and having the mostly useless monster training thing added to the End of Time. This is irrelevant to gameplay but it has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a game and I thin only Devil Survivor 2's soundtrack could rival it.
Re: Random Board
I actually haven't played Skyrim yet, and since you're not on a good PC, like myself... Your complaints are very valid, but, if you upgrade, and wait for some nice UI, and other mods, I have little doubt that it'll be well worth your time.
However, if you've never played Morrowind, that's pretty much a masterpiece, much better than Oblivion IMO, and if you can run SK, you can *probably* run that.
This game will truly draw you into it's story and the depth of it's amazing quirky world. Of course... if you're prone to hoarding, beware.
Chrono, well, that's another amazing game, and I could extol how I think it's amazing until your grass needed cutting.
Oh, and Robo's theme is Rick Astley's - Never Gonna give you up.

Also, if you want to fully enjoy Chrono Trigger you can't be picky about graphics.
do you like time manipulation game?
i also played the DS game, and while i won't argue it's a must have in this day and age, i liked it entirely.but then again, pretty much any thing that features time manipulation, dead, psychics, or space-time anomalies earns a win in my book.this is also why

Atlus!
This is why Radiant Historia is also a great game. Unfortunately the world in RH is rather small and after a certain point you find you retread familiar areas with stronger enemies which upset me a bit. I must also say in general Atlus is amazing at making games even if they didn't make Chrono Trigger.kun0ric wrote:i also played the DS game, and while i won't argue it's must have in this day and age, i liked it entirely.but then again, pretty much any thing that features time manipulation, dead, psychics, or space-time anomalies earns a win in my book.this is also why

Re: Random Board
I've actually played Morrowind before on my gramps' computer. But because I couldn't save due to file editing restrictions (his computer is very tight on security measures because it's a business machine) I got bored of it REAL quick. |D Even though it lacks a "anywhere anytime" version of fast travel I'd love to give it another shot (with the tilde console command prompt of course. it makes things so much more fun!~)

This is very much true but it's not always the extra eye so much as it is the only eye. As a side note this hamster would make a better partner than Navi.
why I oughta...
i'd rather turn the topic back towards the eye of the hamster

If Zelda taught me anything... Well, ask Zera about it some time.
