you've played other horror games right? deadspace or even left for dead(babies first horror game?),any game that focuses on you're adventure in a spooky area while fighting monsters to get to the end? well the difference is you aren't going to fight them.it's not so much a game as it is a first-person narrative, you are living the story and have no idea how to steer it; you aren't going to beat them- keep moving and don't make eye contact. the focus of this game is the environment; the sounds, the lighting and especially the main characters blurred vision and drunken maneuverability are what really make this game scary, because all of the stacked effects blur the line between your own genuine feelings toward the game, and the amnesiac's. as for custom stories... well

obviously the ones like nyan and pedo bear were mods, but i never used the custom story option(or finished the game on my own) so i can't say for 100% certainty which bits were original game, which were DLC, which were user made levels, and which where mods to one of the above.

I've seen a complete Let's Play of the vanilla Amnesia story and I think I can say I saw none of the vanilla in there... all of those moments happened during mod/custom stories

My roommate still wants to give it a go,(with some one there with him of course),but i'm pretty sure i'm done doing the steering- between me,him and Tobuscus, i'm not sure which of us is worse at it; though i guess that's me since even though i was doing "well" as far as puzzles and conserving oil/tinder went, I did chicken out and go to youtube-Toby just seems to luck out on everything, but i'm pretty sure my roommate will either die or chicken out by the time he gets to my place.

I assume Tobuscus is mentioned because you watch him, not because you know him in person, correct?

yea, when insomnia hits and i don't have work to avoid, i'd check out some of his stuff- but the amnesia play through was just me wanting to see someone show what's next without needing to crying myself to sleep; i've no idea who he actually is.

It really depends on the person. Maybe you're more used to horror games/movies so it has less of an effect on you. As far as I know Kunoric's only experience with horro is L4D2 and that's more of a zombie massacre than a horror game...

Amnesia wasn't TOO bad I suppose... but it did have me on edge at some points...

Running from FOEs in Etrian Odyssey produced a greater sense of terror in me that Amnesia has yet. It's been a bit creepy but not scary in the sense that I feel I have to run for my life or face utter destruction....

heh, no that wasn't me, i would never willingly hand the internet my embarrassment, i stopped playing around the time came to the conclusion that the monsters are made of wind, based on the way they spawned inside of a room i just sealed all exits to... (i'm a big baby )
